      Senior Staff Software Engineer Interview

      21 Apr 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Visa Inc. in Oct 2015

      Interview

Multiple rounds of interview. This requirement was for one of the position they had on Microsoft.NET technology stack. They are taking interviews asking puzzles, which most of the companies like Google and Microsoft has stopped asking. Not sure why they are still asking puzzles during interview.

      Senior Staff Software Engineer Interview

      29 Dec 2019
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (New York, NY)

      Interview

Worst interview experience of my life. Hiring manager was a no show. The whole process too more than 3 months. And this was in spite of having a referral. I have seen worse outcomes now that I'm an employee. Your resume goes to a dumpster and the talent team is completely clueless about the process. Mostly because there is no process. I was left alone in a meeting room with no one showing up for 45 minutes. When I left the room and asked the front desk for my interviewer, I was reprimanded for walking alone in the building without an escort. Go figure. Goes to show the negative culture at this company. Needless to say, I will be quiting soon.

      Senior Staff Software Engineer Interview

      22 Jan 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Bengaluru) in Sept 2015

      Interview

I started with three telephonic screening rounds (Infosys recruiter, technical-1, technical-2) in quick succession. This was followed by an entire day spent at their office with three in-person interviews. The final HR round was again over phone. The recruitment round was extremely basic with more emphasis on data collection and scheduling the next round rather than fitment or evaluation. The two technical rounds over phone and in-person were surprisingly conducted by the same set of individuals and hence felt redundant. They were quite basic in nature with far too simple questions for my experience. E.g. Abstract class vs interface, Stack data structure, unit tests, etc. I was asked to write my design and code on a white-board though. The interviewers were courteous and provided several hints to steer my answer towards their expectations. The last in-person discussion was more behavioral than technical. This was more of a dialogue than an interview. E.g. Why I wanted to join Visa, intricate details regarding my previous organizations, expectations at Visa and so on. The final telephonic round was with the Visa HR (not Infosys) and was again a dialogue around my previous experience and Visa expectations. So far so good. They even scheduled a follow-up discussion to answer my pending queries. However, after this twisty course and a few calls, Infosys recruiters gave me a generic reply that though my skills are impressive, other candidates matched their profile better. No other feedback was shared.
