      Senior Analyst Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Visa Inc. in Apr 2019

      Interview

Let me preface by saying I was a former Visa employee. My tenure was very enjoyable so I entertained an opportunity to return. I reached out to the hiring manager and she agreed that an interview should be set up. When engaging with the recruiter for all of 9 minutes, he commented 'so it looks like you have your bachelors'. Odd question as it's on my resume... I replied yes. He next asked about my number of years of work experience. Ok, clearly did not review my resume beforehand. He concluded the call and said he'd be in touch in a couple of days. I received a generic disposition email less than 24 hours later. It was truly an awful candidate experience.

      Senior Analyst Interview

      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (New York, NY) in Aug 2018

      Interview

I interviewed for a senior analyst position for a data team. the interviews has three rounds - on HR screening call, one call with a director, and video interviews with 4 director/sr director, as I was in NYC to interview a position in foster city. 3 weeks after the final round, I was told by the HR in email saying that they decided to move to the offer process. Instead of telling me about the details of the compensation, the HR called me twice, asking again my salary expectation, whether I'm interviewing other companies, and all the details about my perferences of these roles, to a point that being a bit unprofessional and intrusive. I told the HR that I can only make a decision after I hear back from all the companies, which should be within 1-2 weeks. He was a bit unsatisfied that I can't make a decision right away. Two days later, I received a system generated email, saying I'm rejected! I'm astonished that a company like Visa could do things like this. Only because I can't not make a decision right away/this role is not my 1st choice, you could withdraw an offer without calling/sening a non-automatic email? They were the ones who demanded me to have the first round interview while I was on a trip in Europe, even if I could get back to the US in the next 3 days, and the ones who kept me waiting for 3 weeks after the final round! I ended up with a better offer with another company. That being said, I would not accept this offer even if they sent out a formal offer letter! The most unprofessional experience I've ever encountered.
