      Financial Advisor Trainee Interview

      11 Dec 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Detroit, MI
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Waddell & Reed (Detroit, MI) in June 2011

      Interview

The interview process was fairly long with several "homework" assignments just to see if you are willing to put in the work toward an advising career. They asked very simple, straightforward questions. If you are contacted for and interview with Waddell and Reed, you pretty much already have the job.

      8 July 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Costa Mesa, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Waddell & Reed (Costa Mesa, CA) in July 2016

      Interview

First round is a group interview. The division administrator (i think) gives an overview of the company and explains what being a financial advisor at W&R is really like. A few hours later I got an email to complete an online personality assessment called LIMRA. Had to do it twice... I'm guessing they're checking for honesty in the answers. Took me about an hour or two. Just finished the personality assessment waiting to hear back... I will keep you posted

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Only made it to the first round of interviews so far, but the division administrator gives a presentation. You can ask questions if you feel like it. You need your series 6,7,and 66. The cost of study materials is reimbursed after completion of state licensing.
