I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart in June 2022
Difficult interview
Application
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart in Dec 2019
Interview
In one word *WORST* , Dis-respectful , even to most senior role , the interviewer wanted to showcase his skill , lacked complete professionalism !! really ..! , Job role also was not explained.
this shows
1. the technical recruiter gave some background , he was absent on the day for interview scheduled , no response on reaching the location .. the stand by recuriter was working from home on a watsapp !!!
2. Panel looked like scrapped in last moment , whoever this guy was did not even introduce , nor was interested in knowing anything about me ..just ask straight , i'm not interested in your back ground ...and started with a question what is a database ..?? seriously for a person with 17 years of technical experience .. this shows complete lack of interviewing skills for the person whoever he was..
I was interviewed for couple of positions and had terrible experience with both.
First position, HR responded that I am shortlisted and would be offered. After salary expectations they rejected without any feedback.
Second position, they interviewed with SW Engineers in panel who doesn't have enough experience.
Walmart wants to show case they were recruiting in tough times. Don't waste your time discussing with them.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Walmart (Sunnyvale, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
I did not finish the process. The recruiting team could not assemble the interview team together to do onsite interviews . Where to start?
1. At the end of my first interview... Another interviewer and interviewee jumped on t he same sam zoom call. They reuse the same zoom link.
2. During one of the rounds they sent me one zoom link and the interviewer another. This interview was scheduled at 8:00PM my time.
3. Absolutely zero empathy towards the interviewee by the recruiters. Over a month ling process, the hiring manager. did not care to talk. to me. The recruiter kept saying the HM is a Director and is too busy. I had to finally tell him I am also a busy person and show some empathy.
4. I withdrew my application. But the recruiter did not communicate with the interviewer about this and made him wait for 15 min on the zoom for me. Eventually the interviewer sent an email and I responded to it saying I withdraw my application.
The fact that a HM could not talk to an interviewee for a month tells that there is 0 WLB here. I feel interviewing here is the worst 2,5 hours I spent in the recent past.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Walmart (Bengaluru)
Interview
The interview process was so complicated. I was interviewed by 4 people for technical rounds since the hiring manager was on vacation. Then, after everything went well and the recruiter called me to discuss the pay details to give the offer. The next day, the director to who the hiring manager reports did a behavioral interview and asked " how will you handle if you get different directions from your boss and boss' s boss?" Even though my answer was correct, I didn't get the job. This is after almost 6 interviews and they gave the offer to an internal candidate because the internal candidate would understand the organization structure. If they knew this all along, they should have never taken so much of my time.
