      Anonymous Interview

      12 May 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Workday

      Interview

Had a phone interview with recruiter who did not understand technical skills. The recruiter set a negative tone from the start by immediately saying my lack of Workday experience is a big negative. Then it became apparent that the job description posted and the actual job were quite different. Was told I'd get a call back with next steps within a few days. Two weeks later I received an automated email that I wasn't moving forward. Recruiter should have taken 2 min to call or email and tell me that. Unprofessional! Too much weight is placed on prior Workday experience. This company should not be using their customers as the future employee training ground since that's the only way someone would have experience! Recruiting should be focused on soft skills, customer service passion and industry experience. For anyone who has been in the industry for years, learning a new product is not difficult....

      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Workday (Pleasanton, CA)

      Interview

The first interview was over the phone. The recruiter seemed confident in my skills and discussed salary, etc. The next step was another phone "interview" with the hiring manager. It felt very impersonal. After that, to my surprise, I was invited to interview in Pleasanton. I thought the interview went well except for one interviewer who seemed restless. It seemed like I was wasting his time.
