I applied online. I interviewed at Yelp (New York, NY) in July 2012
Interview
Applied online..Initial contact was by email, had to pick a time slot from what they provided for a phone interview a few days after the email was received. Phone interview-person who was interviewing me called late, no apologies or anything..very rude and short on the phone like she didn't even care what I had to say. She just kept answering with "mmhmm" and seemed to be really rushed. Could barely hear her either..so much background noise. Whole thing was prob 5 mins or so.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
