I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Yelp (Scottsdale, AZ) in Apr 2012
Interview
First was a 15 minute telephone interview and then I had another interview later on that week which lasted about an hour or so. 3 different managers came in and asked me a series of questions. Most of the questions were redundant. They do a lot of cold call role playing. A LOT! They get you to try to sale them advertising. Be ready to sale and CLOSE your sale in your role playing.

Question 1
They asked me to sale them my favorite thing.....which I said were my fuzzy slippers...soooo that was interesting. I think the guy liked that I chose that though instead of something conventional like a cell phone or a laptop.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
