I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zuora (Dallas, TX) in Sept 2022
Interview
Interview process took well other a month, due to hiring manager being on vacation. Same hiring manager came back from vacation and resigned a day after interviewing me. His feedback on the company was less than pleasant (now I know why). Last steps of the interview included what I call free consulting. Basically a take home assignment of data they provided and wanted you to explain what you saw, what trends you could see and what solution you would have for it. I declined to continue on my candidacy at that point.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Zuora (Foster City, CA) in Sept 2016
Interview
Michelle Josephson, Zuora's recruiter, found and messaged me off LinkedIn. It was good timing as I wasn't happy with my current company at the time. After learning more about Zuora, she connected me with my manager. He and I clicked well and I really like how he talked about my role and the projects I would be working on if I joined the team. I met my potential new partners and teammates and clicked with them well too.
Finally, Michelle mentioned I'd have to interview with the Tien, the CEO, which blew my mind as I never interviewed with a CEO for a job position before. She sensed my hesitation and offered to give me links and videos of our CEO, to better learn more about him. Also, my manager offered to prep and mock interview me the night before interviewing Tien. We talked for a whole hour the night before the scheduled interview. I don't know many hiring managers or recruiters who are so committed to potential new hires, but I was amazed. After the successful and surprisingly fun interview with Tien, I knew I wanted to join.
By far, Zuora was the best interviewing experience I've ever had with any company in my 10+ years in building my career.
