To put it simply, the partners are cheap. They hire freshly barred attorneys (or law students awaiting bar results) who don't know what they're doing so they can underpay them. The payroll system is outdated. They underpay the cleaning company and in return nothing gets cleaned. Cockroaches have been seen in the break room and cubicles. The office, and especially the bathroom, reek from poor plumbing that they refuse to fix. Broken fixtures throughout the entire office. Leaks in the roof when it rains. Little to no benefits. No paid holidays off. High turnover. Extremely heavy workload that is not divided fairly. One paralegal to 12 attorneys. Several attorneys sit on cases and frequently lose clients only to be saved by admin dropping everything and scrambling to replace them or beg them to stay.
