Pros

Tolerance to mistakes (in a healthy and productive way). You can be more authentic than in the average company, enjoyable relaxed vibe & frequent fun & diverse events at the office. Data is at a good quality standard.

Cons

4 re-structurings (aka firing people) in 7 years. One quarter they're promoting people left and right, the next one they're sacking them. Ignoring simple yet important e-mails / messages that you need an answer to is part of the culture of this company. Despite the data infrastructure being good, the commercial side of the business is not very data-driven.

Pros

- The team is made up of a very high standard/caliber of analysts which is great to work with - Opportunities to make real impact and bring ideas to the table even at non lead/manager level - Visibility over how business decisions are made and lots of opportunity to learn about business operations + strategy - Fast paced - Reactive - Very good learning opportunities - Nice to be in a female-led, female-dominated data team

Cons

- Progression is slow and seems to only be driven by ambitious employees. Managers don't suggest progression even when it's well deserved. Feels like there's a preference for hiring externally to fill senior roles which is disheartening to longer-term employees - Salary is not very competitive and isn't adjusted annually - Bonus pay out not guaranteed - Work can get repetitive - Some managers are better than others - Method of measuring employee performance has changed lots so is unclear - Work life balance is poor at times due to retail environment (e.g. peak trading) - Remote/WFH policy is 'more in than out' which is contributing to people leaving
