Pros

The best thing about this job is the fact that you have the opportunity to change lives!

Cons

UNFORTUNATELY, the upper management treats staff like crap! They treat staff like they are incompetent. The owners of the company are very hands off and disrespectful. Basically, the way they run the company is evident through the complete dysfunction of the company as a whole. How they have kept the company open this long is beyond me!

Pros

Will help you complete CPR, First Aid, Med Aide 1, and CPI training.

Cons

Dictatorial, sneaky management. You must work major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Does not need justification to terminate you. Emotionally draining. Lack of in home resources to complete job description. The average employee lasts less than 7 months unless they work in the office. The office does not look out for program assistants. Violent clientele.

Hello! We know that working major holidays really sucks sometimes! Unfortunately, most of our individuals do not have family of their own. This means our Direct Support staff are required to work some holidays - we don't want our individuals alone on the holidays! Re: "violent clientele" - some of our individuals do have aggressive behaviors and that is tough for all involved. We do try to provide the best training we can (Tools of Choice) to assist our staff with those difficult situations. Thank you for your feedback.

Pros

Clients are sweet, the information they know on the client is usually very accurate, coworkers other than management are very willing to help you get your bearings.

Cons

Sexual harassment goes on with staff and manager in one of the houses, some houses are very under equipped and trashed, they don't train you properly before you get into house, you'll have to pay very much for training instead of getting reimbursed, $25 out of every paycheck.

Hello! We take sexual harassment reports very seriously. We want all of our employees to enjoy their jobs with us. Please feel free to reach out to our current HR Manager if you would like to discuss this further. We do deduct $25/check until $250 has been collected. We actually pay around $2000 for each Direct Support staff's training. $250 isn't much towards that, but it definitely helps. It wasn't an easy decision or policy to implement!
