    Pros

    I dont really no, its a job that pays tbe bills and it works for me i guess any job is a good one.

    Cons

    Big companies seem to forget about the working conditions for lower graded employees which is not great.

    Advice to Management

    Be good to your staff

    Tons of emphasis on career development and skill building
    Pension and solid benefit package

    Cons

    Will sometimes have cost savings initiatives at the expense of employees (I.e. Discontinuing the on campus gym, outsourcing the cafeteria, ...etc.)

    Pros

    Good company to work for. Has instituted tremendous change over the past few years to keep pace with the competition. Treats employees fairly.

    Cons

    Needs to innovate a great deal and in quick time if it wants to climb back to being number 2 for Auto insurance volume. Can't keep jacking up premiums every year... figure out ways to grow organically.

    Advice to Management

    Many leaders have been there too long. Need to bring in young blood.

    competitive, brand name recognition, thorough training and the company makes a substantial investment with every new agent unlike many other companies

    Cons

    sometimes upper managements goals may conflict with the goals of the agent on the street and you are captive with one company

    Pros

    Good 401k match. Good team environment. Opportunities all over the U.S. if mobile. One of the best places to work in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Flexible and balanced work life.

    Cons

    Call center environment for sure. Not many opportunities to get off of the phones. Back to back calls daily. Micro management at times

    Pros

    Allstate is one of the largest insurance companies in the United States for a reason. They have been around since the great depression, and that is not by mistake. They are very professional, thorough and goal-oriented. They provide you with the resources you need to succeed and will help you when you are in need.

    Cons

    Allstate has a contract in place that each new agency owner must agree to. In my case, my boss is bound by this contract. It is designed for the agency to reach a certain size to reach the numbers that they require in terms of acquiring and maintaining accounts. Since my office size growth has halted, it has become difficult to advance, and to make the new and increasing quotas they set.

    Advice to Management

    I think that management should focus more on helping the new agencies to grow, rather than being so results-oriented.

    Pros

    Great hours, during the day and no weekends. Great software which helps make the job easier. Little to no travel required for in office sales work. Great base pay.

    Cons

    Expensive out of pocket benefits. High goals and low commission pay. High turn over with little to no training. Longer daily hours at least nine hours a day. Senior management is detached from reality, the focus seemed to be on what trips the company had and not on company culture.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employees with equal respect. Be understand to employee needs, and develop more structure.

    Needs to innovate claw back to being number 2 for Auto insurance. Can't keep increasing premiums every year or people will leave.

    Advice to Management

    There is an odd mix of people who have been there a long time and new leaders. These two groups do not blend well.
