Pros

Had some good times working with great employees and friends.

Cons

I was so embarrassed working at Animal Behavior College since most of the students we worked with won’t succeed. The school doesn’t support the students and the school’s own data proves it. At the bottom of almost every page on their website in blue is this link: Click here to view Animal Behavior College’s Annual Reports. This is required annual data that the school needs to make public. Click on it and read it. Skip section 1 and go to section 2 to see the program data. You can see some of the worst data about the students. Most of the students aren’t passing or graduating – See Completion Rate for each program: Dog Trainer 22%, Veterinary Assistant 19%, Grooming 38%. Most are failing out! Even worse is the amount of money the students who do pass make. No one makes good money, most make very little. Working at a fast food restaurant is probably about the same amount without spending thousands to attend. You can learn much of the things at Animal Behavior College on your own for free. Animal Behavior College makes all these promises about graduating and making money but the truth is it’s not true and it’s a costly mistake. Don’t attend this scam school. They just want your money. I was tired of all the lies and backstabbing working there. Avoid working here too. You will regret it.

Thank you for your valued feedback. We regret to hear that you were dissatisfied with your employment at Animal Behavior College, aside from enjoying your coworkers. ABC prides itself on offering valuable schooling to its students and offering support at all stages to provide the best chances for their success. Based on our data, a great many people do succeed here. Our dog trainer graduate group numbers over 17,000 and is the largest group of certified pet dog trainers in North America. We also have thousands of certified veterinary assistants and groomers working in their chosen professions in all 50 states and every Canadian Province. Granted, not all students who enroll in our programs graduate, but what legitimate school can claim otherwise? As an educational institution, we do everything in our power to assist students in realizing their potential and achieving their goals. We wish you the best in your future pursuits.

Pros

Fun events a work like: birthdays and holidays. The building is located in a nice area. Good place to walk around during breaks and lunch.

Cons

SUPER high employee turn-over. People come and come all the time, expect for the few who can handle it. Pay and benefits are crap. I felt like a hamster on a wheel everyday at work. So much is expected of you but there is just not enough time in the day to get it all done. They give you a 150-200 student case load and expect you to find an externship site for each student.. At the end, I feel the title of externship coordinator should be changed to High Volume Sales Representative. Why you ask? Because you're constantly on the phone trying to lure animal hospitals to take on students for free. Yeah, good luck with that.

Thank you for your valued feedback. We regret to hear that you were dissatisfied with your employment experience outside of our office parties. Since company reviews are the reviewer's direct personal experience, it is not clear why you believe that all of the past and present employees who have shared positive experiences are being dishonest merely because they do not share the same views as yourself. While we understand that there is always room for improvement, we are humbled that many of our employees have been with our company for decades. This suggests that many people find ABC a very positive place to work and have built solid careers at our organization. ABC also understands that its positions and job expectations are not always the right fit for individual career paths. We wish you the best in your future pursuits.

Pros

I love helping dogs find new homes. The only pro about working at ABC.

Cons

I don't like that Animal Behavior College started a new policy to "encourage" employees to write only positive Glassdoor reviews. The school was upset that many employees wrote bad reviews and showed what it was really like to work at the school. Management setup a schedule for select employees to write only good reviews to take advantage of something called SEO. The reviews are so well timed that once a month there's always a good review written about the school. The good reviews were written were mostly by managers who make more money than the other employees. Every review they wrote in 2018 was always how great it was to work at Animal Behavior College and they never wrote anything truly negative about the school. The positives are very similar using similar statements about teamwork, workload, flexibility, etc. written to reinforce certain values that the school wants wants people to think they care about. The fake reviews are also almost identical with the same "I don't have any cons" or similar con statement devoid of true criticism because Animal Behavior College looked over each review before that employee posted it on Glassdoor. How is it that in 2018 suddenly every review is how the school is so great with no cons? Because there was a school-wide effort to fool Glassdoor and the public. I don't agree with this and feel like the school is abusing its power.

Thank you for your valued feedback. We regret to hear that outside of helping animals, you were dissatisfied with your employment experience. While we strongly support the right of all employees to express their opinions, it is factually inaccurate to state that any of the positive reviews written by Animal Behavior College employees are fake. Company reviews are completely discretionary and direct personal opinions of work experience. ABC does not guide reviews to portray only positive feedback nor are reviews preapproved by ABC. We take all reviews seriously. When legitimate issues are brought to ABC’s attention, we make sincere and diligent efforts to address them. We have taken many successful measures over the past few years to improve as reflected in more recent reviews. We wish you the best of luck in your future pursuits.
