Pros

Great grad program takes you to Auckland for 3 conferences to meet the other 120 grads across the business. Leaders are very approachable and contactable especially for Grads if proactive. Leaders/section managers have a strong focus on employee development so if you want to travel or work in different teams they do their best as they see the value in a broad range of experience. Managers are also really happy for you to pursue random extra curricular projects/activities both internally and externally such as research/mentoring/societies conferences etc For the Aussies, would highly recommend spending 1+ months NZ/Auckland if you get the chance. Beca is a beast in NZ. Great culture, social club, Friday drinks, annual functions etc. good work life balance too.

Cons

Being a tier 2/3 company in Australia means the big/exciting projects are not as common. However this is a strength in a way as this gives opportunities to work in a growing company with lots of smaller projects giving you variety. If you want the big projects then a stint in NZ is a must

Moving in the wrong direction

Pros

The people actually doing the work are great with many that will do anything to help others. Grad program is one of the best. CEO is great and very well respected.

Cons

Strategic Direction is lacking. A lot of talk, but very little substance. Culture of the company used to be excellent, but has definitely changed (for the worse) over the last few years. Many of the upper management appear to only be looking out for themselves, often at the expense of others. Many people have left recently as a result of this. Career progression is limited. Once again a lot of talk, but if you want to proceed, you really need to undertake section management. If this isn't your thing, then your career will stagnate. Sales team seem to only really be pushing secondments which are probably not great for the training of junior/intermediate engineers.

Pros

Great people, interesting projects, good culture and feeling of teamwork, connectivity between offices. Like anywhere takes a little time to get to know everyone/ the process (becarised). Good graduate program.

Cons

Low salary, top heavy management, pdp is tick and flick, management boys club as per other reviewers. Australia seems like the little brother who can't break the market like the bigger, more resourced New Zealand counterpart. A feeling of slight arrogance from across the ditch toward Australia.
