Best things I learned coming straight out of college: - Completed Staff Work methodology - Quick and accurate customer service - Relationships move the needle - The 10-minute rule

Cons

A fraternity is a family but also a business, and the work dynamic usually takes form more on the latter.

Pros

- Values staff members who stay with the organization, assistant director/director positions are possible after 2 years - Small staff that feels very connected - Mentorship program and professional development funds to continue your growth - Opportunities to travel across regions of the country or live in a new city - Cost of housing is covered in Oxford - Covers travel expenses and you personally get the rewards (airline miles, hotel points, etc)

Cons

- Expects traveling staff to consistently work beyond the hours listed in contract (very little work/personal life balance) - You really need to love Beta Theta Pi and selling people on joining it, otherwise burnout is quick and brutal with the long hours - Pay is lower because they cover staff housing cost in Oxford; good if you want to live with coworkers 24/7, but it strains work/life balance - Working for a fraternity is different now than it was even a few years ago. There is a lot more skepticism towards Greek Life and many campuses are calling to abolish fraternities
