Pros

There’s a decent salary, but no money in the world could be worth this.

Cons

Do you like being made to feel dim and incapable on a daily basis? Do you like being spoken to like an incompetent child? Do you like a work atmosphere where absolutely nobody speaks to one another? Do you like working for snotty rich people with more money than brains? Then you will LOVE working at Carr Golf. If you’re looking up the reviews here, you might have noticed that the only positive reviews for Carr Golf are written by management. Questionable, right? Its very cliquey, so if you plan on working here you must be happy with your own company - forget about making friends. The management is DIRE. And if you think HR are any better, then you would be mistaken. You will feel like just a number in this workplace, I know I sure did. The training process is not adequate. It is too abrupt, and certainly not ‘entry level.’ A background in travel is a necessity here. You will never be told ‘good work’ or ‘thank you.’ You will be constantly criticised and micromanaged. You won’t be able to do right for wrong. A simple mistake = absolute chaos. You will be told that if you make a mistake they will be annoyed (the word they actually used was a profanity) was so constant anxiety is a must here. The problem is that when people live and breathe for their work there is room for little else, such as compassion, or you know, treating people like human beings. I am aware that many people who work for the company feel this way - I have been told the only reason people stay is the money and the access to rounds of golf. Management are power hungry and eager to be ‘a part of the boys club.’ I want to reiterate that my problem is not only with how I was spoken to and treated during my prison sentence at Carr Golf, I was actually disgusted to hear how other members of staff were being spoken to as well. It was downright embarrassing. If you have any sense of self worth you will run. If I had no arms and legs I can assure you that I would crawl out of there on my blood-soaked stumps. I have had some wonderful and not so wonderful jobs in the past but this truly takes the cake. I have never worked anywhere so cold, hostile or toxic in my life. This is the worst job I’ve ever had, and I’ve worked in Costa, so that’s saying something.

Pros

Nothing from a working point of view , only the fact of meeting great club members along the way

Cons

I could go on forever here , but underpaid, overworked staff treated like cattle might as well be slave labour , unqualified inexperienced people put in high positions with very poor working backgrounds , just a horrible company full of unprofessional incompetent people who seem to follow suit from the top and treat the on the ground team like crap .. I advise strongly to avoid this company at all costs

Crazy hours and low morale

Pros

Most employees share a passion for golf. Also the owner of the company, Marty Carr, has a great infectious personality.

Cons

Employees are expected to work long hours with very little gratitude. There is also major infighting between managers that everyone knows about because they are occasionally having very public arguments in the open concept office.
