Pros

Some staff are friendly but that is about it.

Cons

Unprofessional. I don't understand how they are allowed to function the way they do. Old school. Bad communication from managers. CEO is the worst 'leader' I've ever come across, and a liar. He flew over to our office on his private jet to tell us that no one would be made redundant, and has made everyone redundant in the middle of a global pandemic. It's now hard to find jobs, and no help/support has been given. No one from Castle cares. We used to have the best culture at our old company which has now been destroyed. They blame their complaints on Affinity for Business. Believe the bad reviews before working here. I chose to avoid them at the time, but now I understand.

Pros

There is nothing positive to say - 1 star is too much to give this company. Run the other way. A few nice members of staff if you push it.

Cons

Castle Water took over Affinity for Business as a merger. After flying down in his private plane the CEO stood in front of the entire company with his smirking colleagues and said that all of our jobs were safe. We recognised that some jobs would be lost for duplicate roles however within weeks everyone was at risk of redundancy. Yes 100% of staff. And guess what 100% of roles were made redundant. And the reason why? Our pay was great, our annual leave was brilliant, maternity benefits fab, pension, mental health initiatives I could go on and on. Castle Water pay is shockingly low, they include bank holidays as part of your leave but don't recognise all bank holidays. No benefits to speak of. Oh and they don't care about their staff. In the brief time of 'working' with them- take that term loosely as they used everyone.. they only spoke when they wanted something, made some people literally crack under the pressure and then discarded them, there was sniping between CW team members - tit-for-tat to remove blame for issues. Their expectations of reasonable workloads is insane and no one can cope with it. There is a blame culture which stinks and they have actively told customers lies about AfB to cover their poor choices. Dont be fooled into thinking that anyone has any kind of say in their jobs. Its run like a far right organisation (Guess the word not allowed) CW staff were not told about our mass culling either - that was left to us to embarrassingly say. Thanks. They wanted to crush our company because it had an amazing culture, because our customers, were happy, because they were our biggest rival. Well you did it. Left as under a year employment because let's face it, you paid us but I wouldn't call that a career.

Pros

At the ground level, the people are really good and there are some great teams out there (and some less great teams)

Cons

Do you want to work somewhere where - the working environment is cramped and noisy - the paid leave is the lowest I have ever come across (and only 6 Public Holidays) - the sick pay, while slightly more than SSP, is also the lowest I have ever come across in the UK - attrition rate is high (whether you jump or are pushed) - continual changes of management, direction, and priority - challenging any of above is not encouraged (and in fact will be detrimental) (I haven't put my job title in as the company is small enough that the review would no longer be anonymous)
