Pros

"Lower" level staff are great, competent, hardworking.

Cons

Evidently very disparate pay for women and people of color, unhealthy work environment for new staff, not receptive/retaliatory to HR complaints. Not feasible for single parents or anyone with outside responsibilities.

Good salary and benefits, some very talented coworkers.

Cons

Toxic work environment, poor management at all levels. Cabal of 5-6 senior staff who have been friends forever run everything with no transparency.

If you’re looking to work at a movement organization, CPD is a great choice. Amazing affiliate network. Innovative campaigns. Solid salaries, great benefits. Unionized environment. Diverse environment. Smart coworkers. Best internal teams (Finance, Tech, DEI, HR, etc.) I’ve ever worked with. Org is under fantastic new leadership.

Cons

Management style depends on the team you’re joining, but interview processes are solid and should give you a flavor if that team is a good match for you.
