Pros

Centrick employ some amazing people, they also know how to throw a Christmas party. Their pay structure is competitive (so long as you hit exorbitant targets)

Cons

Working at Centrick is simultaneously one of the best and worst decisions I ever made. Centrick taught me so much on ‘how to do property’ (and a fair bit on how not to do it too actually) and since moving on, I’ve realised that actually the culture is really toxic and oppressive from senior management - there’s little to no respect or praise from these people to the rest of the business, very often just scrutiny. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of favouritism that goes on which creates a really nasty environment to be in especially for those newer to the industry who need coaching and mentoring. The training strategy at Centrick is really poor unless you’re prepared to self teach out of working hours and the processes/manuals for a lot of basic tasks are completely out of date (which you have to read because there’s never time for proper training) but management will still pressure for no margin for error. Working on the inside looking out, the customer service is dreadful in that so much of what they do is centred around them making money, not their customer having a satisfactory journey. Whilst you’re a business so profit is the name of the game, you’ll have none if you keep upsetting customers! Sadly, I could write a really long list here but feel I’ve pin pointed the biggest issues and over my time with Centrick I feel it’s got worse as the company has grown larger and will continue to if attitudes and conduct of individuals don’t change.

Pros

Good office location, that’s really is the only thing I can think of

Cons

Heavy workload, no support, an if your face fits mentality and an awful experience once you resign. No scope to have an opinion, micro managed to the point of a breakdown and nobody cares. For every poor review on any forum, they create a handful to counteract it and bring their score back up. Very underhand and unpleasant.

Pros

Can throw a decent Christmas party.

Cons

Management are bullies and have empty promises Sly racism throughout the company from upper management (but they hired a ton of coloured people after sending out a survey to everyone about how diverse they think Centrick is and got a low rating) Thankless job from employers Managers don't know how to do the job but expect others to learn themselves and get thrown into the deep end They will hire you if you're good looking, even if you have no experience within property management - which leads to customer complaints because they don't know how to do the job. Training is awful, infact, there's no set training, everyone wings it and shows people different ways. Wage increases are a big no no, even if you work yourself to the point you're stressed all the time. Everyone gets with eachother and management are known for their flirtatious behaviours with women around the workplace, hence all the good looking women that are hired. They can't take critism from employees even though they send surveys out and then call you into meetings to tell you why you're wrong then throw a hissy fit. No support whatsoever from management. James Ackrill (director) walks around like he hates everyone in the office, unless you're one of his pals and won't speak to you or smile for that matter. Unless it's an Xmas party then they're all drunk and ready to mingle. Targets are unreachable and when you tell them, you're wrong. Good luck if you report anything to HR because HR won't care, they're pals with the directors and upper management so good luck getting support when it's about them. The list could go on but this review will get covered up by around 2-4 other '5 star' fake reviews by current employees, as usual.

Centrick Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and your feedback, we’re naturally really disappointed to read this review. When we founded Centrick back in 2005 we set out to nurture a property business with the most talented and knowledgeable people in the industry and over the last 17 years we’ve always focused on building an environment based on values, respect and fairness. We don’t always get everything right but we’re always listening and openly looking for ways to improve what we do for our people. It’s one of the reasons we hold quarterly engagement surveys that absolutely help to shape our people strategy to provide the best possible employment experience. We also hold exit interviews with all leavers to create another opportunity to share any feedback, good or bad, about your experience with us. We've grown rapidly over the past 18 months and as a result, we haven't always had a consistent approach to training new starters, which we are happy to report has been completely overhauled along with a more robust annual training calendar for all staff. We encourage feedback from all of our teams and take any suggestion of discrimination, of any form, very seriously – we’d welcome any further thoughts or comments that you’d like to share with us via email to people@centrick.co.uk and please let us know if you’d like to discuss further.
