Pros

I worked at Cerdant for almost 4 years and it was by far the best place I've worked. I noticed that they have received negative reviews for the first time in 10+ years of the company and it took me by surprise. My assumption is this comes from the employees that were recently terminated for inappropriate behavior while at work. I normally don't post but felt the need to give a real view of the company that treated me so well. Great Atmosphere to work in. Employees are very well taken care of and compensated for their work. Employees are asked to be at work 5 minutes before the start of their shift and are routinely walking out the door at 5PM. Management is supportive of creative ideas and thoughts for improvement. Management knows who you are and cares about you. The Director has an open door policy and allows anyone to come in and talk freely to him. People pull together and help each other on a daily basis; team environment. Not sure if they still have it but there was a ping pong table for employees to play on and gaming systems for them to play on down time. Healthcare was 100% paid for. You got 15 days of PTO as soon as you started. Breakfast was bought almost every Friday. The greatest Christmas party and gifts you could ever have. Raises were routinely 8 to 10% of my income on an annual basis which is unheard of. I feel bad that they have gotten negative reviews as I still have many friends that work there and Cerdant is a great company to work for.

Cons

It would sometimes get very busy but rarely did anyone work more than 40 hours. It was just busy during the time you were there.

Pros

Relaxed dress code Dell will bring in breakfast once a month or so Exposure to most sonicwall products Managers are now taking monthly management classes

Cons

Management style is random and unpredictable. You will get a real sense that they are in way over their heads and it shows through best in moments of tension. Management often bends the truth to suit whatever point they are trying to address at any given time. Truth is whatever management says it is for the moment, regardless of the reality of any situation. Management is far more likely to throw their employees under the bus rather than going to bat for them in just about any situation, even when the customer is clearly in the wrong. Unpaid before-work meetings are rife with shaming and temper tantrums. Blame is spread thickly among the employees when the issues often arise due to issues initiated from management. Some of the most unprofessional conduct I have ever seen on display took place in morning meetings. It was once brought to our attention that we would no longer be able to say the "N" word in the office or anything of any racist nature because they were hiring their first non-white worker. The manager proceeded to tell us to "get it out of our systems now" which some employees took him up on. Not to mention the CEO has sent blatantly bigoted e-mails to the entire company and also firmly directed his employees on which way they should vote in the 2016 primaries. Basically we were okay to vote for anyone but Bernie Sanders. They stress "culture" is the most important thing in the company, and yet I found that culture to be toxic from the get-go. Disorganization is prevalent and is the established norm. You are expected to read minds and conjure up the correct procedures from the ether. Documentation is nearly non-existent with the exception of asking so-and-so for an e-mail from 5 years ago that they had saved. Outdated technology and resistance to change prevails due to pride that they've made it this far without X idea/tool.

Pros

Lower level staff members are very friendly and helpful. Calm and casual atmosphere. Paid healthcare

Cons

Workload on the the engineers is over the top at times. Owner demands to make all decisions but lives in another state. The managers in the office have very little autonomy to make even the most basic of decisions. You will be paid salary but will be treated like an hourly employee. You will be expected to show up 15 mins before your "shift" and will be expected to stay until 5:00pm regardless of your workload at that time. Meetings will be scheduled before the workday so you have to come in early to attend but you will not be compensated for that time in any way. There is no meaningful knowledge transfer to new employees about procedures. There are a million rules and exceptions about how customers are to be handled you will only learn about them when you are told you messed something up. This job is sold as a "network engineering" or "firewall engineering" job when in fact this is a call center job. Your phone will ring and you are expected to pick it up and help the customer on the other end regardless of what their problem is. The owner is regularly unprofessional in tone and conduct in front of his employees. He made personal attacks against former employees during staff meetings on more than one occasion.
