Pros

Genuine, talented, and amazing people for the most part across most teams minus the Product team.

Cons

Useless Product team from the leadership level to the bottom. Co-founders don't care about anyone, will throw anyone under the bus to their board in order to cover their own incompetence. Never came across a more ignorant leadership team that prides itself on patting themselves on the back for making poor decisions. Product itself is useless because they do the opposite of what team members and customers say are of value.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review on Glassdoor. One of our core values, as you know, is to Raise The Bar. In order for us to continue to do so, it is important we hear feedback on what we are doing well and what can improve. Deeply negative reviews are rare for us, but it means we failed somewhere for someone and it’s an opportunity to make some changes. We strive to be an open and accessible leadership team that encourages feedback in many forms through manager 1-1s, employee engagement surveys and an open door policy. I welcome a direct conversation with me to discuss your specific concerns in-person. As you know, we celebrate our successes, however big or small, and we deeply believe that our Cityzens are the main reason we are fortunate to be enjoying an exciting business growth trajectory. Therefore, our All-Hands meetings have a dedicated focus on our employee achievements, successes, and wins, and we tie all our company success to our employee success. Over the last year, we have made incredible upgrades to our Platform, which is no small endeavor. We are deeply proud & grateful for the great contributions, efforts, and commitments from our CityZens’ in releasing exciting features, expansions and datasets that our customers are loving. It’s hard to imagine this type of product and customer success without a deep understanding of our customer needs, a strong feedback channel with our customer base and a seasoned, agile, and inventive Product team that is always willing to collaborate. Of late, we have been even more overtly communicative with the entire company about our product roadmap, our big bets, and our vision, all rooted in what we hear and see from our growing set of customers, and as best we can, following a Product-Led Growth strategy. As mentioned earlier, I encourage you to seek me out and I would gladly discuss any product or personnel concerns you might have. We are human, and we have our areas to improve, so I would love to hear directly how we can improve the experience of our talented CityZens, our amazing customers, and our growing product. Pros

Good work-life balance and generally pleasant people working here. It's an okay place to work straight out of school to get experience but definitely not a place you'd want to stay long-term. No micromanaging which is a plus. Great for people who like to do the bare minimum.

Cons

Horrible management, poor product, favouritism is rampant. Lots of busywork with no real point apart from fluff to try and make themselves appear relevant. They make no effort to retain high-performing staff and would rather hire new staff. No prospect for growth unless you want to blow smoke and pretend like you agree with leadership's nonsense. Anyone can adjust data to make it say what they want it to and that's definitely the case here. Below market compensation.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review on Glassdoor. I am sorry you feel this way about your time at Citylitics. While I strongly disagree with the conclusions presented in this review, I do acknowledge this incident as a gap in our Employee Onboarding & Experience and I am hopeful you can engage with your direct manager or the Citylitics people ops team to find a successful path forward. As you know from all our Monthly All Hands meetings, regular company announcements and employee surveys, we are regularly seeking employee feedback and we are consistently improving our employee experience. We celebrated over 13 promotions at Citylitics in the last 12 months. Every promotion is based on measurable impact made on Company OKRs, which we highlight explicitly in our Monthly All Hands. Every month, we see our high-performing employees making great impact and receiving recognition, regards and career growth opportunities because we believe in managing by impact, outcomes and results. As a fast-growing data & AI company, we are delivering remarkable business growth in an economic recession. These results are only possible because we have talented individuals on our team who understand and embrace our OKRs, Our Vision & Mission, and our Core Values and drive our company to new heights every day. We are regularly surveying our employees about their perspectives on their assigned projects, their recognition/compensation and their future outlook at the company, with overwhelmingly positive results. We know we have critiques, and we are actively thinking of resolutions to those challenges we can solve. We share our business metrics every month, consistently, with the entire company and our Board. These are standard SaaS and Financial metrics. We share weekly recordings of our leadership team meeting to the entire company. We do this because we believe in transparency, and that when our team sees these metrics, they know what needs to be done to continue our growth trajectory. With all the data workflow automations that were prioritized based on team input and implemented over the last 6 months, it can be very tempting to do the bare minimum at the moment. I don’t know if that is the ideal philosophy in the long run. I would be thrilled if we can find a way to best leverage your talents and for you to have a more fulfilling experience at Citylitics. From our last few All Hands, you’ve seen the team deliver on some exciting data automation projects, and our plans for the next wave of Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Data Conquest projects. There are exciting and career-transforming projects to explore and contribute towards. If you are open to it, I would encourage you to raise your hand, work with your manager, and see how we can find a way to further enrich your experience at Citylitics. On a leadership level, we will continue to review how we better maximize the talent potential within our team as best as we can. -Ahmed Badruddin Co-Founder & CEO
