Pros

*Some* of the VPs are great to work with & provide valuable mentorship (others are terrible). Senior leaders (Grossman, Ralston, & Vick especially) are class acts. Some interesting, high level client work and exposure.

Cons

Top heavy organization that relies on a small group of junior staffers who are very poorly paid for the hours they work. Internal competition emphasized over cohesion at the junior level, and almost a Stasi-like environment at times. Old boys club mentality (just look at the team page - full of old, white men & all AAs are women). Terrible pay and benefits (insurance v expensive due to aging senior staff). Opaque performance reviews - a lot of promotions due to blatant favoritism. Takes advantage of the oversupply of young IR grads in the area for cheap labor.

Pros

Junior staff, who are positioned to compete against each other are bright

Cons

Poorly compensated junior staff starting with a $50k "fellowship". The management uses smoke and mirrors to gaslight anyone who wants more clarity on their pay or upward mobility. The teams are basically run like a family business gone awry, with a married couple in charge of most of the project teams.

Pros

Great team to work with. Company offers great benefits such as paid parking in Gallery Place area, pays your phone bill, snack area, great social functions.

Cons

I think they need to make the EA positions more robust so that they can keep employees. I felt more like a scheduler than an actual EA. Giving some of the duties that the Research Associates do to the EA, hire admin assistants to handle the small scheduling items, and maybe assign EAs to the client teams would make the job more fulfilling. I must said I didn't feel apart of the "team". There also isn't room for career advancement in the admin world, I was told that flat out during the interview. Also, some of the attitudes of the senior admin staff makes the job difficult day-to-day.
