Pros
- New office space - You will meet nice and hard-working people here. A lot of people are friends outside of work too. - Casual dress - Opportunity to travel - Team activities such as monthly breakfast or happy hours. - The culture used to be the biggest pro in my opinion, but this seemed to be quickly disappearing as the company changed its hiring strategy and the types of candidates they were looking to add to the team, so I'm not sure I would even consider this a pro anymore. - The CEO is very nice and does his best to be supportive of everyone.
Cons
- Minimal to no opportunities for growth - The company has no HR team, which means there is nowhere to go with HR complaints. A lot of problems go unaddressed and there are no exit interviews to learn why candidates are really leaving. I was never asked why I was leaving when I handed in my notice, which I found to be somewhat alarming. - For lack of a better word, there is a lot of bullying here, especially by higher level management who are the top performers. These individuals are allowed to fly above the radar and rules do not apply to them because of their high performance. Things that are considered bullying in the workplace at other organizations are simply ignored here and swept under the rug. - A lot of individuals here, especially that have been hired for the sales team, feel disillusioned and frankly lied to during the interview process. The day-to-day responsibilities and success of the company are greatly exaggerated and skewed to attract candidates. The reviews on this site are misleading. A lot of people at this company are very unhappy and would not have taken the job if they were actually provided an honest and clear description of the job and workplace. Unfortunately, a lot of people who are unhappy are unwilling to post a description here for fear of retribution. It is such a small company that it's always obvious who created any post, so anonymity is practically nonexistent. - The company is not performing as well as expected or as it should be. The leading cause of this is poor management, which leads to high turnover. They will tell you high turnover is normal for sales, but it is extremely high here. People leave managers, not jobs, and that is exactly what is happening here. - It's normal to feel undervalued and under appreciated. I've seen a lot of people be belittled, primarily by the most senior members of the team. - The benefits are not very robust. Sick days are practically nonexistent. I think you get one sick day for the year until you hit your one year mark, and then I think you get two. Not a huge difference or comparable to other companies. Management seems to think things like casual dress and a soda fridge make up for benefits that other companies are able to provide. - Not a great work life balance. The events go Sunday to Tuesday, which means you're traveling/working your entire weekend. This would be fine if you were given additional pto or compensation for this, but this is not the case. Individuals are allowed to take the Wednesday off; however, if you have to spend this day traveling to get back home from the event, this is still considered to be your day off.
