Pros

Fun, fast-paced consulting environment with opportunity to learn from CSR veterans - founders have 20+ years of experience. Enjoyed working with clients from all walks of life - Pharma, Tech, Healthcare - and at all stages of sustainability program development. Perfect for someone willing to roll up sleeves and jump in.

Cons

Challenging environment if not willing to take responsibility for own success and learn by doing. Could be difficult for someone with no serious work experience or little knowledge of corporate responsibility.

Pros

I started as an intern and was given significant opportunities for professional development. The management were very supportive and good mentors. The client list is impressive, and being a small business you have direct contact with clients from the start, with lots of responsibility. The work is varied and interesting, with opportunities to focus on specific areas of interest. I really enjoyed my time at Context and am grateful for the experience.

Cons

I only moved after many years to expand my experience by working in a different setting - in house at a multinational company.

Pros

In years past, Context has been a top tier sustainability communications consultancy - winning top clients with a mixture of sustainability knowledge, multi-channel comms expertise and a passion for client service, exceeding any other competitor firm in the space. During my time at Context, I worked hard, learned a tremendous amount and was given significant opportunities for advancement. I built a flexible skill set and developed strong client relationships that have extended long beyond my time at the firm, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Cons

However, in the last year or two, changes in management and approach have significantly degraded the employee experience and opportunity profile at this firm. A culture of distrust hampers the ability of employees to do good work, be creative/innovative and deliver good work. Opportunities for advancement and growth have been significantly degraded as the firm shrinks, focuses on a very few clients and narrows the range of services it can offer.
