Pros

Overall, it’s a good job with flexible hours and (for the most part) supportive management that genuinely tries to help when possible. The work environment is usually positive, and I enjoy interacting with guests. When it is slow, I am allowed to work on homework.

Cons

When it's busy, the workload is very demanding, especially since the Bistro is often run by just one person. I’m responsible for taking orders, making Starbucks drinks and alcoholic beverages, cooking and serving food, bussing tables, cleaning the kitchen, and closing everything down at the end of the shift. It’s a lot to juggle alone, particularly during dinner rushes. If you are interviewing for a courtyard bistro position, I would ask them how many people are normally staffed at your location.
