The only real challenges I have experienced are more connected to the nature of online teaching and time zones than to the company itself.
As I am based in South Africa, the peak teaching hours in Costa Rica fall very late for me, often between around 1am and 5am South African time. This means I am not always able to take advantage of the busiest teaching slots. However, there are still opportunities to teach during more reasonable hours, so it is not impossible to build a schedule. It is simply something international teachers need to be aware of when considering availability.
Another thing to keep in mind is that a full teaching schedule is not guaranteed. Student bookings can be fluid and may change depending on different factors, such as vacation periods, student availability, financial circumstances, or students pausing or ending their lessons. This is quite normal in online education, but it does mean teachers need to be flexible and understand that hours can sometimes fluctuate.
Overall, these are not deal-breakers for me, but they are realistic points to consider. Craving English is still a wonderful company to work for, especially for teachers who value connection, support, flexibility, and meaningful student relationships.
