Pros

The toilets have a little shelf at the back, so you can put your glasses there when you go in to have a cry.

Cons

I'm shocked that the rating here is as high as it is. Croner-i was a dreadful place to work. I've worked on the Poundstretcher shop floor, in call centres, and for companies that were almost certainly fronts for money laundering, and Croner-i was still worse. Benefits are non-existent (no maternity pay, minimum pension contribs, no sick days). There's an EAP, but it's run and owned by Peninsula - the same company that runs and owns Croner-i. They forced people back into the office extremely early on in the pandemic (I believe May/June 2020?!). There's next to no training and development, no appraisals, no employee reviews. It's unclear what your goals are supposed to be. Pay is poor and there are no pay reviews (I was told Croner-i "doesn't do raises"). Gender pay gap is appalling for the group too. Culture is bizarre and outdated - e.g. you'll be in full business dress all day regardless of your role. Hours are strict for some reason, you can't be late or switch them around. Having packages delivered to the office is frowned upon. I was warned against getting too close to certain colleagues, because they were apparently 'snitching' to the CEO. Some senior managers were seriously concerned that meeting rooms had been bugged. You're micromanaged to death, too. There's no HR (!) - they're based in the group company in Manchester. And get ready to keep a strict paper trail of everything that happens in your time, because I know multiple former colleagues who saw Croner-i in an employment tribunal. Anyway, now that I've posted this, look out for the flurry of new 5-star reviews that just happen to appear from current sales staff a few days later.

Pros

The fake positive reviews are honestly laughable, because I KNOW, nobody would agree with the most recent positive review. Anyway, straight to it: I was released from the shackles of hell. That’s it. That’s the pro.

Cons

Honestly, I cannot believe the fake reviews on this thing, they actually asked me when I was working there, to write positive reviews for them, but I didn’t because you guys need to know the truth. And, management please don’t respond to this with ‘I’m sorry sales wasn’t for you’, because I have many years of sales experience darling. If you’re a yes man, then please work here. - Management: When I tell you the management is AWFUL, it is AWFUL. In fact awful doesn’t even cut it. They pretend like they know how to do their jobs but in fact we knew how to do it better than them. They are unsupportive and honestly don’t give a heck about you, you’re just a number, please don’t bother trying to be mates with Humpty Dumpty, Angry Birds/Voldemort, Dragon and them either, they’re all absolute weirdos (those that get it, get it). - Culture: The culture is just bad vibes. They have their token ‘ethnic’ people in order for them to tick the diversity box, but when you join, you’re treated differently, this is a fact. It’s basically a circus, they don’t know what the hell they’re doing, they make up the rules whenever they wish to change them, and this also effects you financially so if you’re trying find a job that hinders your financial opportunities go for it sis. - Salary: If you research the markets average salary for a Business Sales Executive, you will see that we earn around 20% less than the average person in London for the same job role and trust me, for the amount of work, stress, and headache this company gives you, you’re better off working in a Warehouse or something honestly. - School vibes: It is the most immature environment you’ll ever come across, you’re constantly being b!tched about by management. They stir peoples personal problems and create a pugnacious environment due to the TOXIC culture, yes toxic because you shun away your loyal employees when they have problems or issues internally. - To finalise, a friend of mine really went through it they DO NOT include those who have disabilities or other conditions. And as mentioned make those that are of ethnic minority feel small, unwanted and certainly an outcast to their business. Oh yeah, the view, lol, that’s the only thing that will actually tempt you to work here butttttt… I SERIOUSLY ADVICE ANYONE WHO EVEN THINKS ABOUT WORKING HERE TO RUN. RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN.

Hello, it's David Surridge here, Associated Director of sales. There is very little about your review that is constructive (it really does just seem to be spiteful and vindictive) but I wanted to reply out of courtesy. There are a number of factually incorrect statements as follows: 1. We don't post fake reviews - we really don't have the time! 2. There is no ticking of 'the diversity box', that is simply a lie. We recruit based on personality, hunger, ambition and potential - regardless of the diversity of someone's race, gender, sexuality, etc. In fact we are extremely proud of our zero tolerance approach to discrimination of any kind. 3. You mention that our sales people earn around 20% less than the 'average' market salary for similar roles. All I can imagine is that you didn't manage to earn commission in your short time here because, again, this simply isn't true. We are completely transparent with our Sales salaries and show all candidates the Career Pathway, before they start, highlighting the different opportunities to increase their basic salary. Having said that, the vast majority of any good sales person's salary will come from commission and, based on this, we know that we pay way above market averages. 4. My next point is more on a personal level - it seems to me, based on you admitting to having cruel nicknames for some of our Managers, that you attempted to contribute to, and/or create, an environment of bullying while you were here. I'm therefore extremely glad that you no longer work for us as this is the kind of behaviour that really can create a toxic working environment. We have a zero tolerance approach to bullying so I hope that these childish nicknames left our building the same day that you did. 5. You state that you are a current employee with 10 years tenure - these are both obviously incorrect as you talk about leaving PLUS we have only been trading for 4 years!! 6. I am going to vehemently defend our Team Leaders and Sales Managers - they all work extremely hard and focus on supporting all sales people every day. We could not have grown our business from 8 to 70 in the sales department, over 4 years and throughout the pandemic, if we didn't support our staff properly. Thanks again for the review, I hope everything works out for you in the future.

Pros

The view maybe? The people of course - big up the team because these are the people that really help you get through your days The gym

Cons

Well where do I start? Everyone in the business on management level is a disgrace. They act like they are there to support you but in reality they don’t care about you one single bit! You’re just another number. Like they say, Croner-I has an everlasting revolving door! They cannot retain staff AT ALL, people are constantly complaining, leaving and they’re constantly hiring. Big RED FLAG! I had been at the company for about a year, I’ve never seen a staff team change so often across all departments. There is clear favouritism, some people get to do whatever they please, however they want because they make the company more money than others. All the managers and directors only care about the sales team It’s a horrible company to work for, toxic work environment. You feel like a robot, constantly being surveilled and micro managed. It feels like you’re at school rather than at work. There’s no flexible/hybrid working even through covid, back in December everyone was catching covid left right and centre and they didn’t let us work from home and had us in the office up until Christmas Eve which caused people having to isolate and be alone for Christmas!!!! Disgraceful. Like someone else said in another review, DINOSAURS. They hate people that speak up for themselves and only like 'yes men'. No sick pay, no maternity pay, no health insurance. Oh the irony that they sell HR services but don't even have a HR department!! Advising people how best to treat their employees but don't even take their own advice. If you do decide to work for such a treacherous, scandalous company it won’t take you long before you realise the real reviews on here are in fact true. By the way the good reviews are definitely written by management because I can guarantee you nobody is leaving this company with anything good to say!

Hello, as I said to the person who posted the 'Red Flag Ulert' review, there's a lot wrong with your comments. The support from our management team is constant and genuine. I take great pride in seeing Manager's celebrate other peoples' successes - we have a supportive, nurturing culture. We definitely can (and do!) retain staff - you are wrong by saying otherwise! Our retention levels are at an all time high. You are correct when you say we are constantly hiring - we've recruited 26 people over the last 3 months, have got another 6 starting on Monday, and are looking forward to welcoming at least 20 more over the course of the summer. Constant recruitment is kind of an essential task when you are growing your business!! You're right, we don't offer hybrid working in our sales department. Our environment is vibrant and our salespeople join us for the atmosphere and stay for the success this breeds. We obviously worked from home, at certain points during the pandemic, and we noticed a vast upsurge in mental health issues with a large number of our sales team. With everyone in the office this challenge has now reduced massively so it would be extremely unfair on our people to send them home full time again. We recruit people who want the 'buzz' of working in an office in London and it's this buzz that's contributed to our low rate of attrition. Finally, any positive reviews on here aren't written by Management - I'm way too busy responding to the numerous negative reviews that have been left by the same person - you!! So, in summary, your reviews are having zero impact on our recruitment, our growth, our team spirit or our success - so feel free to leave them but I would suggest you save your time and mine! Regards, David Surridge.
