Pros

The "little people" who work here (service reps, project team, etc.) and decent human beings; most have strong work ethic and morale and endure the day to day suffering together. That is pretty much the only pro- we lean on each other for support while we live in hell from the time we clock in to the time we clock out for the day.

Cons

CrossCom National is literally the most abusive and degrading place I have ever worked at. Never in my life have I experienced such hostile work environment. The "managers" (if that's what you want to call them, although I know not one of them holds any type of experience or education in the field of management) are abusive, degrading, sexist, and racist. Don't even attempt to go to HR for any concerns, they have been compared to "the mafia" by management and will only destroy you if you speak up or bring any concerns to their attention. Raises (if that's what you want to call them, which don't even meet the cost of living) are solely based on work politics and not actual performance. There is absolutely no HR department whatsoever. The individuals in HR have no experience or HR background and don't follow legal or corporate policy. The place leads on fear and intimidation. The place is corrupt, crooked, unlawful, abusive, and unethical. Management will slander both technicians and their employees in front of everyone and will sometimes withhold pay to technicians if they don't like them. During my first few weeks of employment I was told "if we don't like you, we can and will get you fired" by a member of management.

Great Example of Everything Wrong with Corporate America

Pros

Very little. A few decent and friendly co-workers.

Cons

The single, most dreadful company I have ever worked for. They operate an outsourcing business rather than an IT business. Managerial incompetence was staggering (including one who often took naps in the office when he wasn't being verbally abusive to staff) with no knowledge of IT or customer service. Number crunchers (and not good ones) who make service delivery promises to companies that they have no intention of keeping. Workers will be punished when these promises are not delivered. Managers operate by threat, lies and verbal abuse. They opened the Tulsa office before providing furniture for staff (probably illegal but who knows - It is Oklahoma after all). Generally any employees with any talent or experience will be run out of the company before long (or will leave for better things). If you go the extra mile for a customer, expect to be coached/written-up/fired, especially if it doesn't fit into the official template. Free thinking, ingenuity, and initiative are not encouraged and will be punished. Corporate culture is vomit-worthy, mostly based on the typical 21st century propaganda styles using euphemisms and buzz words ("fast-paced" "close knit" "flat-structure"). "You will be treated as a resource, not a human being" should be located somewhere in the new-hire slide show but you can bet it won't be. Expect stress, betrayal and low pay. I'm sure there are local MacDonald's chains hiring that will offer safer, friendlier work environments with better managers, training and direction. Start there instead.

Pros

Benefits, overtime, flexible scheduling, convenience location.

Cons

If only you could rate this with less than 1 star. It was probably the worst decision ever made to work here. If you apply for a certain position like projects or dispatch, be aware that you will be placed into the 'level 1' customer service without warning and with little to no training at all and be dropped straight into the call center portion of this company, which is extremely high volume with calls and overly stressful. This company is deceitful and disrespectful and do not know how to treat their employees. Makes false promises like raises and "things will get better" and "we are working on the process," just some of their lies that they shove down your throat just to make you stay there. Some of the managers constantly breathe down your neck, talk about micro managing at its finest. Promotions are highly unlikely/rare. They do not value the time or hard work of employees who have been there and put up with their shenanigans and would rather demote those employees who have always put in their 100% every single day or take away their raises because they are unable to keep a 'steady' staff for more than a year. The 'teams' are constantly understaffed due to employees quitting or being fired for unknown reasons and not being replaced, which makes everyone else's job harder and more stressful being in such a high volume call center. High turn around rate when it comes to keeping a 'steady' staff. This company would rather save money than keep you on as an employee. You're better off being unemployed or working at a fast food restaurant like McDonald's or Wendy's than working for a company like CrossCom. This job will break you down until you are emotionless and at your breaking point. Would only recommend this job if you are either A.) Really hurting for a paycheck just to get by or B.) A complete robot with no emotions or a social life.
