Pros

If you are new at web developing you might enjoy the first 6 to 12 months of learning. They have a basic foundation and the work is entry level so you can learn a few things.. They share an office space with Launch Digital Marketing (the owners other company) so you have a chance to learn a few things on the marketing side of the industry.

Cons

First off, when I worked there I was asked to write a positive glass door review to offset the bad ones being written. The negative reviews have been removed but I don’t know how many times it will work before glass door catches on that the negative reviews are very true. Now here is my opinion on my work experience there….. I worked with an assembly line of coders cranking out websites with an expected monthly quota to be met. Deadlines were very difficult to meet resulting in high stress situations, poor implementations and the owner/managers passive aggressively telling their exhausted overworked team that they needed more time and effort out of them. It felt more like a coding factory than a web company. My work\life balance was greatly skewed towards work. I personally received zero compensation for sometimes up to 55 or 65 hour weeks. I was typically expected to work at least 50 hours every week. I was contacted on vacation, at nights, on weekends ect…. I felt the employees were underpaid and overworked. Their owner and management always promoted treating people awesome but it never quite felt like that to me. In closing... Don’t let the beer keg, dance floor, loud music and loud office environment machine’s fool you. If it’s too good to be true then it typically is, and this company is no exception. If you are fresh out of college don’t be fooled into thinking this is a young hip non-corporate job. On the outside they promote a fantasy work culture where everyone is equal and #awesome to lure people into thinking they are part of something bigger. I wanted to believe in this fantasy work culture. Who wouldn’t? Unfortunately it’s nothing more than a fantasy and I ended up leaving. Reality is treating me much better these days.

Pros

I was with Dealer Inspire for 3 years. I recently got a job offer that I could not pass up and management visibly could see that I was checked out many months ago. Transparency is one of the 5 tenets that the company swears by so I am going to be very transparent in this review. If you are considering Dealer Inspire, please know that many employees love the company and you just might love it as well so don't let one review sway your decision. The pros are that they have good benefits and if you live in the suburbs of Chicago, the commute to the office is a breeze compared to hopping on the train everyday. The leadership for the client services team has really improved despite the insane client load pfms have to endure. The sales team has also stepped it up and I think the inside sales manager goes above and beyond to reward his team and really coach them.

Cons

The HR department has regressed significantly and the turnover highlights how poorly the department has been managed. The company has lost 4 incredible employees that were with the company from the start, within 3 months. The clients are always favored over the employees. During my time on the client services team, I personally experienced and witnessed other co workers being verbally abused by a handful of clients. But, thats the nature of the business they say Although benefits are a plus, the pay is very low for the amount of time employees spend on projects, review calls, preparation etc. If you have over 40 clients to manage, you should be compensated

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. We are growing and our teams are undergoing significant positive change, in client services especially. We are adding employees not only to staff for growth, but to give bandwidth to employees to service their current clients in a more strategic and proactive way. Although on-boarding employees at a rapid rate we have not compromised our hiring practices and are always looking to ensure we have candidates that have the ability to succeed and add value within our teams.

As a current employee (as the review indicates) I apologize that you are feeling this way and that you have felt you could not discuss your concerns with your manager or People Operations. Our office is open to discussion and feel that it can be more effective than a review or response. With regard to our promotions, there is a process in place for management to nominate employees for promotion and that is reviewed by People Operations to prevent bias. For open management positions and other roles with multiple interested employees, we have an application and interview process. We are growing quickly and working to create an environment of opportunity for team members as new positions become available. If you have concerns or would like to know more about the process to apply for open roles I would encourage you to meet with the People Operations team so you can feel confident in our process and guidelines.
