I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fair and are serious about work flexibility and work/life balance. I have always felt supported by my direct seniors. Emphasis isn't on winning, but doing a good job and making a difference. Good coffee machines and break out areas.

    Cons

It sometimes feels like the company is becoming a cult... Providing seminars on moral issues, encouraging employees to donate through the Deloitte foundation, trying to cater for employees spiritual needs. Not what I want from my place of work, which is fundamentally profit driven.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Senior team members really take the time to guide you through your work with give meaningful, constructive feedback.
There is a large breadth of learning opportunities and projects, giving you the chance to find an area or niche you prefer and develop yourself in.
Your viewpoints and contributions aren't dismissed as a junior team member, especially if it's pointing out mistakes or contradictions.
Senior team members do their best to make themselves available to you for mentoring or to chat about projects/issues.

    Cons

Sometimes, the adage "talk the talk, doesn't walk the walk" is evident. Work/life balance especially can be hard to maintain if you aren't very vigilant about it, and can across as rich when are you trying to educate companies about better w/l balance when you yourself don't receive it.

    Advice to Management

There are a lot of good things happening in Consulting at Perth, but it can definitely be approved by doubling down on our approach to work/life balance and making sure it is truly maintained.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting projects, learn good corporate skillsets

    Cons

    >Tenure based promotion and remuneration (even though the Talkin promotion system claims to be based on performance)
    >Existing, more experienced employees always get paid below new consultants who've joined the firm from industry, even if they have little to no experience in consulting and are underperformers.
    >Long hours, sometimes extremely long and unrecognised (e.g. 60+ hours)
    >Horrible pay - basically the hourly rate of employees who are often advising CEOs or other C-suite executives is often about what you could make in say, a call centre...
    >Little concern for employee well being & welfare despite publicising things like the 'wellness index' publicly

    Advice to Management

Actually walk the talk on wellness and rewarding employees based on performance, rather than tenure.
