Pros

Backed by Disney, we work with the largest premium publishers across all verticals, which is exciting as a Customer Success Manager here. EX.CO also really knows how to hire well. With each new person that joins the team, it's clear that they bring something new and interesting to the table. I constantly recognize that I'm surrounded by top tier talent in the industry - everyone truly knows their stuff and is happy to share their knowledge with you, which I've appreciated since day one. There is honestly no such thing as a stupid question or suggestion here - your voice is as important as anyone else's. At the end of the day, it's rewarding professionally to work at EX.CO, but also I honestly just thoroughly enjoy everyone I work with, which makes coming to work easy :)

Cons

While we've been around for over a decade, we operate in some ways like a startup still, in that progress is made fast and sometimes you can feel like you have a lot on your plate. If you're struggling with something, speak up! There is always someone happy to help you.

Pros

Good PTO, chill people, leader in a very niche market, I see their product all over the internet.

Cons

Below market salary. Politics are crazy with upper management, loyal, hard-working, employees get mixed in it and then get thrown out. Product is barely holding together, unreliable, consistent, repeatable outages that nobody knows how to fix. I think the company is secretly barely holding it together

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. On compensation, we regularly review our salary bands and benefits to stay competitive within our market and regions, and we continue to evaluate them as the company grows. Regarding culture and leadership, we strive to create a transparent, respectful environment where employees feel supported and heard. We know that no organization is perfect, and feedback about internal dynamics is taken seriously and discussed with leadership as part of our ongoing efforts to improve. On the product side, reliability and performance are core priorities for us. Our engineering teams invest continuously in platform stability, infrastructure, and monitoring, and we work closely with leading publishers and media owners who rely on our technology every day. We appreciate the time you spent at EX.CO and the perspective you’ve shared. Feedback like this helps us continue to refine both our culture and our technology. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

A startup can be a brief experience, not a career. Approach it with limited long-term expectations

Cons

People can lose their jobs for criticizing: A company that punishes employees for providing constructive feedback is stifling growth and innovation. Healthy criticism is essential for improvement. Non-standard working hours: This often implies a lack of work-life balance, which can lead to burnout and stress. While a startup environment can sometimes necessitate flexibility, it shouldn't come at the expense of employees' well-being. Toxic managers: This is a serious red flag. Managers who are not open-minded, engage in gossip, and create a hostile environment undermine morale and productivity. A healthy workplace fosters open communication and mutual respect. Unclear and constantly changing strategy: This creates instability and uncertainty. Employees need a clear sense of direction to feel secure and motivated. Constant shifts in strategy can lead to confusion and frustration. This is symptomatic of unprofessional and inexperienced management. This can lead to poor decision-making, lack of guidance, and a general sense of disorganization. Effective leadership requires experience, professionalism, and strong communication skills.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. At EX.CO, we take concerns like these seriously, as two of our core values are Transparency and Collaboration. We’re committed to fostering an environment where open and honest communication is encouraged at every level of the organization. While we regret that you felt your feedback wasn’t heard, I want to clarify that we actively seek and welcome input from our employees. We host regular company-wide AMAs, bi-annual feedback roundtables, and cross-functional working groups, all designed to create open channels for constructive dialogue. We value feedback—both positive or critical—and view it as essential to improving as a company. Regarding work-life balance, we operate within a flexible hybrid model to give employees autonomy in managing their time. That said, we are always looking for ways to reduce workload pressures and ensure well-being, and we recognize this is an ongoing process. Culture and leadership are top priorities for us, and we measure sentiment regularly through eNPS surveys and exit interviews to identify areas where we can continue to grow and improve. We’re sorry to hear your experience did not meet your expectations, and we’d welcome a deeper conversation with you. If you’d like to share more, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our HR team directly.
