Pros

Income "potential". Solar is a great field to get into so there is a growing market.

Cons

Door to door sales. Make sure you know that! Good story tellers. They will tell you one thing to get you hired and change it after you're hired. What they tell you in the interview get in writing to make sure it happens. No formalized training, throw you into the deep end and hope you swim. They don't listen to employees who have great resources to add to the company.

Pros

Flexible scheduling, fun people to work with.

Cons

Where to begin. This company struggles with a heavy dose of nepotism. If you aren't "one of them", you can expect to be a target during layoffs. They (management) also liked to tout how ethical they were, and then do something completely unethical. There is also a high turnover rate of salesmen, so sales tended to lie to people to sell the product, and then when there were issues, there was nobody being held accountable to these customers that were essentially swindled.

Pros

You learn what not to do.... There were some really great sales leaders when I started.

Cons

Con artists were brought in to run the sales department. I watched them throw away two of our best sales people just to appease the slimey management duo that were brought in to supposedly help them "go public" someday. It's all about money to them, but unfortunately they are hurting in several key markets due to the slimey tactics they've resorted to.
