Pros

You can be promoted within 18 months or less of being with the company.

Cons

The pay wages for the roles in service and implementation do not measure up to the enormous workload. 500 employees were laid off at the beginning of the pandemic, business picked up and we were understaffed. Leadership did not make adjustments to the metrics for those taking inbound calls even though they knew we were short staffed and unable to handle the high call volume. More work is piled on top of what associates are already managing. I'm also disappointed in how ADP handled the return to office to ADP One locations. Associates were not given notice or the option to choose if they wanted to return to the office. Covid changed a lot of things and now everyone needs to adjust. When I recently left the company, I submitted my timesheet for hours worked and was only paid for vacation and overtime. I was told by HR and my manager that I was paid current and would not be paid for my 80 hours that I worked. We are paid for our hours worked afterwards not in advance. On our pay days our timesheets are due and we are paid the following pay day. No one was able to give me a thorough explanation of why I'm not being paid for hours worked. The policy says we are expected to work up until our last day and I honored that. I was never paid in advanced for hours that had not been worked or submitted yet. I've never been advised by any ADP recruiter of this so called "current" pay cycle. I would also advise anyone who applies that if you are with the company less than 3 years, you will lose your employer contribution. It goes back to the company. I am very disappointed in ADP now that I see how they treat employees who leave them. I will no longer recommend anyone I know to apply with this company.

Pros

- Established company with a long history and relatively stable business operations. - Provides a sense of job stability compared to many organizations navigating rapid changes in the current AI-driven market. - Lower risk of frequent restructuring or large-scale layoffs than many high-growth technology companies. - Opportunity to work with experienced employees who have deep institutional and domain knowledge. - Predictable work environment that may appeal to individuals seeking long-term stability over rapid change. - Strong choice for professionals who value job security and a steady career path in an uncertain economic climate.

Cons

- Documentation is limited or rusted, and many operational processes lack clear runbooks or standardized procedures, making onboarding and troubleshooting more difficult than necessary. - If you're coming from a modern, fast-paced engineering environment, the organization may feel behind current industry practices and tooling. - Internal politics can sometimes outweigh technical merit or execution. - There are teams with very long-tenured employees where change and innovation can be difficult to drive. - Decision-making often involves multiple layers of approval, resulting in significant bureaucracy and slower execution. - Processes can move slowly, and collaboration is not always transparent across teams, leading to inefficiencies and occasional confusion around ownership. - In some areas, roles, responsibilities, and operational processes are not clearly defined, creating unnecessary chaos and inconsistent ways of working. - Engineering standards and best practices vary considerably between teams, making cross-team collaboration challenging. - Organizational change tends to happen slowly, which can be frustrating for employees who are focused on modernization, automation, and continuous improvement.
