Pros

Good experience due to working on a variety of new projects in different roles and capacities, peers were able to learn from and challenge one another. There was a specific project workflow process that clients had to follow, so our projects at least had a structure and a timeline. Nice physical office space and location. Occasional but rare fun events off-site and on Friday afternoons in the office.

Cons

Project management was ultimately still disorganized. There was no leadership or direction from departmental management, leading to executive overreach. Office politics got around easily and the managers were unprofessional in gossiping about clients and past employees. My team and I were overworked and did not get to enjoy our work. Pay was terrible and not competitive with market rates.

AIS Media Response

We (AIS Media) have received more than 30 awards in the last four years for our work, so it's difficult to understand how project management was disorganized or how there was no leadership. Award-winning results, outstanding testimonials and happy clients (who are on the record) don't come from a lack of leadership or direction. This does require excellent talent, desire to put the project first and driven employees. Definitely not for the 9-5'er.

Pros

I worked for AIS Media full time for almost ten years, back from the early days. Executive management always had a vision for the future direction of the company, which was inspiring. I’ve seen that vision be executed and then continue to change as business needs change, with a truly wide range of products and services offered to clients. The company also listens to clients and uses that feedback to determine what additional services we could offer. The other thing I truly appreciated about my time there was the wide-open opportunities. If you saw a need that should be filled, you could own that opportunity just by doing it. Continuing to grow into different positions allowed me to develop skills that I still leverage today. I don’t know much of the staff there today, but at the time we were a tight-knit group. We depended on straight forward communication between teams to get things done and we just did it. I would hope that management has been able to encourage and maintain this collegial environment as it was critical to working together to satisfy our clients. I still miss a lot of things about AIS Media, and my coworkers there.

Cons

It is not a place for slackers or for just a 40 hour a week "job". We worked really hard all the time.
