Pros
Remote work, the ability to contribute to a cause that is bigger than one's self
Cons
Inability to attract and retain quality talents due to nepotism, total lack of accountability by departmental heads (i.e. the arrogant head of the training department with an overbloated ego) who for all intents and purposes is in bed with the same individual who should be overseeing his work. Requests for time off is granted/disappproved solely on the basis of nepotism or other nefarious reasons, solutions for work improvements are only accorded the light of day based on whether or not the proponent is part of the clique. There's a lack of training programs/performance improvement strategy to help staff stay current in their respective functions, gain new skills, or simply to improve overall performance all of which have been proven to be best practice as well as a win-win for both staff and organization. Innovative voices are stiffled rather than welcomed by the few who see themselves as demi gods/favored by the powers that be. The inability to assimilate new business pathways has created a culture of disenfrachisement evidenced in the high rate of turnover, contract losses, and profit downtown. This organization is simply not a good fit for professionals who really bring new ideas to the table and this downward trend will most certainly continue until The CEO and her so called family members/friends wakes up and hopefully, gets it together but I'm very doubtful for a lot of reasons.
