Glad that I accepted my offer with AWS despite of negative reputations out there about AWS - UX Designer Amazon Web Services Employee Review

Pros

Before I accepted the offer, I heard more negative reputations of working at Amazon rather than positive ones. When I tried this job by myself so far for 3 months , I feel lucky that I'm taking the same workload, if not less, as my previous 3 jobs. And I'm getting paid twice more than my previous jobs. There're so many talented people in my team that I can learn from each of them. And we're collaborating and helping each other. And company is open-minded to hire remote workers.

Cons

Need to be flexible and adaptable about priority changes. It's a challenge to gain domain knowledge about cloud computing.

Pros

Ambitious projects if you're in the right team. Typically great team-mates. Don't believe the memes, the ppl are not back stabbing jerks but are overall genuinely nice. Not constrained by budgets when building cool things. Tools while sometimes clunky are powerful.

Cons

Schizophrenic lack of focus, entire teams get split, merged and upended multiple times a quarter. Some product managers are disconnected from reality. It didn't use to be the case, the PM-Ts were previously top notch. You're pushed to vibe code everything. Established products with loyal customers are getting neglected. Newer VP level leaders don't seem to know what they are doing. Veteran OG VP level leaders are either leaving in droves or seem stressed or checked out.
