Pros
Avanade is a great place to work and consulting gets you exposure to many types of industries. This goes a long way with just about any employer that will come after them. The people are great! They're backed by two powerhouses so the access to training and resources is pretty good.
Cons
Avanade is extremely political. Promotions are supposed to be fair, but the process is not. The bench warnings suck. You can get one as a "seasoned" employee that has been with them for a while and get the choice between begging someone to put you on a project (not for performance, but lack of work) or a severance package. Meanwhile, the people they just hired are still employed.
