      Pros

      I work with some really intelligent, motivated people. We earn TOIL which is a massive plus point over the Big 4 accountancy firms. I feel as though I have learnt a lot about business since joining the firm.

      Cons

      I work with some really stupid people, who don't really care about my well being, they just want the huge amount of work done. The merit rating system is rubbish, and if anything is demotivating because it is so hard for people to recognise when you have gone the extra mile.

      There actually are great people, but you play manager roulette.

      Cons

      BDO is notorious for promoting people who just never leave. The middle of the road, not great, not awful, people get promoted over and over again. There have been changes every 3 seconds since the ESOP. Terrible communication around change (non-existent). My manager's favorite term was "We are building the plane as we fly it". After 4 years, I was hoping to have more plane built. It was never built.
