Pros

I joined BDO RISE a year and a half ago, after navigating the often-tumultuous waters of multiple failed interviews. With 15 years of independent work behind me, I frequently encountered skepticism during the final rounds, largely due to my lack of traditional corporate experience and the misconception that age could be a barrier. However, my journey with BDO RISE was a breath of fresh air. From the very beginning, the interview process was nothing short of extraordinary. I received regular updates, which made me feel valued and engaged. Each of the five rounds unfolded like a rich tapestry of learning, where my strengths were not only recognized but celebrated. Constructive feedback on areas for improvement was offered with warmth and encouragement, creating an atmosphere of genuine support. In an organization that cherishes individual strengths—regardless of age—I have found not just a workplace, but a nurturing environment that fosters professional growth and cultivates deep loyalty. At BDO RISE, rewards and recognition are integral to our culture, celebrating hard work through various initiatives. The organization honors all faiths and festivals, fostering a sense of inclusivity. There’s a strong emphasis on sports and hobbies, encouraging everyone to pursue their passions. Team collaboration and open communication are foundational, enhancing our collective efforts. Additionally, promotion opportunities are available at all levels, and the non-restrictive work timings promote transparency and integrity, making it a truly supportive environment. The leadership at BDO RISE genuinely embodies an open-door policy, allowing me to approach any leader with my thoughts and concerns without hesitation. This open communication extends not only to my immediate supervisors but also to my stakeholders in the U.S., creating an atmosphere of trust and collaboration. It’s refreshing to work in an environment where my voice is valued and where dialogue is encouraged at all levels. The rise and growth of an organization cannot be measured solely by business success and output; it is equally reflected in the happiness of its people. A thriving workplace is characterized by engaged, fulfilled employees who take pride in their contributions. Their well-being and satisfaction are key indicators of the organization’s overall health and potential for long-term success. I am truly glad to be a part of such an organization, where the focus on people and their well-being creates a positive and inspiring work environment. It’s rewarding to be surrounded by a team that values collaboration, growth, and happiness.

Cons

I believe that every organization is a work in progress, and embracing this perspective encourages continuous improvement. By acknowledging our challenges, we can proactively seek solutions and enhance our processes. This mindset fosters a culture of collaboration and learning, allowing us to support each other in our growth journeys and collectively celebrate our achievements. I am glad that BDO RISE embraces this thought and open for suggestions and improvement.

Pros

Compensation is OK. There are some really nice people in the organization to work with, but you have to find them.

Cons

If you are not part of the SWC "club" (company name prior to them joining BDO), good luck. Poor leadership!!! Practice lead talks to everyone like they are talking to a CEO, not relatable in most cases. No clear employee development plans. You are held accountable for things completely outside of your individual control. They stress incorporating AI into work strategy, but have no plan on what that looks like or how to do it and want everyone to formulate it because leadership has no roadmap. One has no control over where you want to take your career, yet you are expected to know everything, about everything. As a result, you become an expert of nothing! Work assigned rarely leverages skills, almost as if they throw darts to see who works on what.
