Pros

good and market established product line, (loosing its reputation gradually) If you hate changes, then you u'll end up doing the same stuff even after 10yrs good learning and on job experience in buttering upper management incompetent management, no one will catch you for technical goof ups. live exposure to high end politics good implementation of "bring you friends to work" office location. local languages are preferred over English

Cons

Political competence is directly proportional to your stay at BMC. Cost saving center of US,It is the only thing managers are up for. No salary hikes No promotions Hard work, competency, creativity will not be the points you will be judged upon. Pathetic IT infrastructure, no test labs. Incompetent people at higher positions Show off is this the only thing you should be good at Hard working employees are treated as slaves No growth in terms of opportunities, compensation. HR department only exists on papers. Policy implementation uneven for all departments Workload distribution uneven for all departments Biased management decision followed by baseless explanations Unfriendly work environment. Small bonuses are given with hell lots of explanations as if you never deserve them. False promises to retain the workforce. Desk availability is more valuable then the work you deliver. Feed-backs are only a formality.

Pros

They hardly ever fire anyone.

Cons

They hardly ever fire anyone. Comp plan is terrible. You get paid on Opportunities sources but there isn't any criteria written down on what makes a discovery call turn into an opportunity. Leading them to cherry-pick deals and choose if you get paid or not. They don't have product market fit. The entire new logo space didn't close anything last year. Getting placed in a good, high paying seat is all dependent upon nepotism. No clear path for growth. Constantly moving the goal post and changing promotion criteria. The promotion path leads you to a role that has historically not closed a deal and the role is a huge pay cut for some BDR's leading to high churn or career BDR's.
