Cons
Managers hold disproportionate power in the performance evaluation process. Even employees with a consistent track record of strong performance and top ratings can suddenly be given poor ratings within days. These sudden negative ratings are sometimes used as a basis to terminate employees without proper compensation. HR often fails to act as a neutral party and tends to support the manager's decision without adequate investigation. This creates an environment where employees have little protection or recourse against unfair treatment.
