Pros
There are no pros in this industry, it is a very toxic industry. Causes depression and anxiety. Constantly being asked to upsell and promised commissions. No commissions were given. Bad hygiene in ALL stores, constant cockroaches and rats in some stores.
Cons
This industry is not stable! Had to fight several times to keep full-time job as a sales manager. Even if you work hard and build sales while in a company store, a franchise buys store and kicks everyone out, job is not stable even if on a full-time contract. Was ripped of thousands of dollars by not being paid right. Franchises are under paying staff, not paying laundry allowances, not paying after 6pm pay, or public holiday rates or not paying 12 hour breaks between shifts. Also making it hard to have a social life but making managers not have any holidays and constantly being made to be on phone during days off and go into the store on days off without extra pay.
