Pros

I wish there was one Pro. There are a couple of people there that are nice to work with. That’s about it

Cons

This is a 1099 position and yet you will be yelled at and berated on an almost daily basis. I say almost because you are expected to be in the office and on the phone making cold calls (they will tell you they are leads but they are not) pretty much all day long trying to get appointments to go visit prospective clients in their homes. If you do get an appointment expect that the prospect won’t be home or won’t let you in. If they are home and do let you in then you do have a shot at making a sale, however…. In the beginning you are supposed to be paired with a training manager who you are supposed to watch as they make a sale. The process should be that the manager puts both of your names on the sale so that you both get paid, You are in the field on these appointments 3-4 days a week and will sometimes drive nearly two hours to these appointments. Expect a lot of mileage, wear and tear and gas expense. The worst part of this office, however is the management. The head guy gets paid on how many new agents they employ, they don’t have to stay long so they really aren’t invested in your success. Also, once you get fed up by being treated like garbage, any policies you DID sell will be turned over to the managers so that they will get residuals and pad their books of business. If you like high stress and little money, getting yelled at being treated horribly even though you are 1099 then this is the place for you.

Pros

Bankers provides award winning training, an elaborate product portfolio and a rapidly growing market. They leverage cutting edge technology: contact and LEAD management, electronic business submission, an incredible proprietary mobile application. I have 11 companies I can be appointed with - making sure my clients get the best program for what they NEED. A great opportunity to receive great training, work with great people and make a great living, all for helping people.

Cons

This opportunity is just that, an opportunity. Those who don't take advantage of it won't think it is a good one. Even successful people deal with a ton of rejection, thick skin is needed. With a 40% closing ratio, I still hear "No" more than "Yes".
