Separating the two divisions into separate companies will allow each side to be more responsive to their business.
Cons
The company is going through a lot of changes and ambiguity to split since this is new to most employees. I think the company took on too many initiatives at once -- splitting, restructuring function groups, and streamlining processes. The company would have been more effective if it focused on one thing major initiative at a time.
