Pros

The company has an excellent training program. My first day and first few weeks were AMAZING. I seriously was SO excited to be working for this company because of the way they market themselves. The company also promotes growth within. However, if you've been a property manager/assistant property manager for years at a different company, it is likely that you will still have to start out as a leasing consultant at this company. I'm sure there are some exceptions to the rule, but that's just what I've seen. The maintenance teams are also excellent as well. Good job maintenance!!

Cons

Honestly, I really wish I wasn't giving Bozzuto a one star. However, I am forced to because of my personal experience with upper management at my specific property and how Bozzuto lets the management treat us at their property. I would also put in 12+ hours a day about 3-4 times a week because management would tell us "you should not go home until your work is completed"......well at this property, things were awry (to put it nicely) and literally there was hours and hours of work that needed to be completed. However, since you're so busy being a leasing consultant and you're constantly interrupted by residents and prospects, there was never time to complete it....until AFTER the office was closed. And overtime pay? LOL! Forget it, you won't receive it unless approved by the property manager (which was never because we were "fully staffed" as they said). But I guess that's what you get when you're salaried! The work/life balance is NON-existent when you are working for Bozzuto (I've heard this from more than one property and a lot of reviews here agree). Being a property manager is the exception unless the ownership is visiting. You WILL be working 3 out of 4 weekends a month (both Sat and Sun) NO MATTER which property you are at. So that sucks, but they DO (or they should anyways) tell you at your interview. I do know a few people who have claimed that the manager said they would work 2 weekends max and then were surprised when they saw that they were put on for 3/4 weekends, but Bozzuto is pretty open about you having to work those weekends so there is usually no surprise there. Going off of how busy it was....having ONLY TWO SSA's working on a Saturday/Sunday is unacceptable. Prospects/residents have yelled at us more times than I can count because we didn't get to them in time. They say 3 leasing consultants is being "fully staffed" (so one SSA will have the weekend off while two work), but it is NEVER ENOUGH TO HAVE ONLY TWO WORK AT A SUPER BUSY PROPERTY. And of course management ALWAYS had EVERY weekend off! It's ridiculous and embarrassing and laughable. The pay....is awful. BUT that is also another defining characteristic of customer service and sales jobs. So be prepared. Remember, this is customer service AND high-pressure sales at the same time. You will do well if you do not let the stress get to you (i.e. residents screaming at and threatening you), and you will do well if you can handle managers slipping in those "or else" statements if you don't meet your sales goals for the week/month/quarter/whatever. If you thrive off of this and it motivates you (I had a coworker get motivated when a manager brought up the fact that they didn't make their goal), then by ALL MEANS apply. There are many other things that I don't want to go into because it would take me the rest of the week to type it out.
