Pros

Really loved the people I worked with. Their strenuous interviewing led to some really great people working there. Very innovative company that has found its stride as a tech giant. Going to go big places as long as it figures out how to keep lower level employees engaged. The monthly events were very fun, it felt like the culture at large wanted to see successful people do great things and were trying to give the space for them to do so.

Cons

Micromanagement. My small team had a newer manager who refused to get her hands into the work she was delegated over and rather spent all of her time jumping from meeting to meeting making sure we were on track. The job I changed to when I left has been extremely laid back in comparison. I feel like a real human with trust again. I also found the culture to be lacking. When employees left, the remaining employees quickly turned to talking crap about them. Managers made fun of other managers, and team members regularly picked at managers as well. No work life balance. I thought WFH was going to be a dream, and found myself glued to my chair from 8-7pm many days, and getting calls and texts even later. My manager often sent emails at 8pm and her manager often sent emails at 2am. I asked my manager once; "What am I doing wrong? How can I get off at 5pm instead of 7 or 8pm?" They shot back "Well, maybe don't take a lunch or do some of the work you don't have to be on the phone for in the evening while you watch TV?" These problems may have been central to the management of my team specifically, but I've seen similar reviews here in Customer-based roles.

Pros

Elite product that is industry leading. Cold calling is a difficult job but selling this product makes cold calling easy and people listen on the other end of the line when you say BrightEdge. Training program at BrightEdge fosters success from day 1. At the beginning, you are immersed into the day to day environment of the company all while learning the ins and outs of the industry, hands on with the tool, learning scripts, how to handle objections and cold call at an elite level. So many people hit the ground running here and was fortunate to have BrightEdge as a foundation of my professional and sales career. Some of the things I learned here from day 1 and from my last day at the company I will carry with me for the remainder of my career. Culture is phenomenal, every person in the Chicago office looks out for one another and pushes you to be your best day after day. Everyone gets along and is accepting of one another, I have made lifelong friends at BrightEdge all while hitting my numbers, working hard, and making great money as an entry level sales rep. From 8-5 everyone in the office is locked in and grinding to hit their numbers and helping others do the same. On top of that, it is a fun environment where it makes coming into the office a luxury instead of a chore. I learned an incredible amount from sitting next to my peers and sitting next to leadership and taking advice from them and putting it into action on the salesfloor. Pay for an entry level role is 2nd to none. If you come in everyday with a drive and determination to hit your numbers it is impossible to fail with the resources you and guidance you receive along the way. Hit your numbers and you will make a ton of commission + base pay + overtime. This made it extremely easy to live in the city and live comfortably. Finally, senior leadership has a strong investment in their people and genuinely will do whatever it takes to help you advance your career. Perfect place to start your career, learn a ton about the tech space, make a bunch of money, gain valuable sales experience, and network!

Cons

Young company with growing pains but always open to hearing suggestions on the betterment of the company/office.

Pros

Made some great friends here

Cons

I wasn't myself when I worked here and you don't even realize it until you are gone. Overtime every night and on Sunday makes it so hard to maintain a good work life balance. Barely any PTO and you feel guilty taking it anyway, so it's almost impossible to escape from work. Micromanaged constantly and instead of acknowledging issues management acts like this is the greatest job ever imaginable. The culture is truly exhausting. Beyond the workload, the culture is incredibly draining. Lack of professionalism and managers openly discussing employees behind their backs gives you anxiety.
