Pros

Fantastic coworkers in fellow account mangers in the client services department, and the media traders are always ready to jump in- thanks!

Cons

Been wrestling with posting for a while now, but for the most part...I must report the same issues from the first review. I am also a current employee and feeling discouraged/disheartened with the disconnect between our department and upper management. I have been with the company now for some time and have voiced many of the same concerns about work load and overall lack of accountability from other departments. It does not seem to have escalated to upper management to affect any tangible change. I would not feel comfortable going to either of the cofounders or the COO with these concerns. I don't know them well enough to jump above my immediate supervisors, and not having an outlet to voice concerns about internal management within our department is concerning. In an ideal world, an open door policy would be great...but it seems ideological at best. With no anonymity, what assurances are there that anyone's future growth may be hindered by voicing concerns that have been unaddressed? I want to acknowledge many of the benefits highlighted in the company, but also want to point out that these benefits come at a trade off. Although pizza and coffee stipends are nice perks...I would rather have the company provide me with a dedicated work phone. To my knowledge, no one is provided with a work phone and I have to use me personal phone for work. I have been called at all hours of the day/night as clients are in different time zones. This allows for zero separation from work and personal time and I have had to change my personal VM to be BrkThru message. We are not compensated for this in any way. Further, we have no compensation for internet expenses working from home. Again...appreciate the perks offered, but the fundamental basics...a dedicated work phone and reimbursement for internet would be much better than pizza, coffee, trivia, and gifts from the sales team.

Brkthru Response

Thank you for the feedback. It sounds like you read the first review and our response. I’d like to encourage you to reach out to our co-founders, COO or myself as we truly want to hear from you so we can have a conversation to understand. We do mean that we have an open door policy and welcome constructive feedback. We don't have a culture of retribution and in fact, I can speak to being one of the people who has spoken up to our co-founders and COO about an issue, and they addressed it immediately. If I did that anonymously, it would've been difficult to tackle. In order to make anything work or possibly change, all parties need to believe and work towards our core values of caring, trust and communication. We will give you an honest answer on the spot and be able to have a dialogue around your concerns. To answer your benefits suggestion, the good news is that we have already been planning to roll out phone/internet expenses. Stay tuned, it’s in the works!

Pros

Working remotely, but many companies do the same.

Cons

They constantly moves employees around to different teams, which creates a lot of unnecessary disruption for both teammates and clients. Every time you are moved, you have to relearn the entire book of 50 to 100+ clients, new accounts, historical context, performance trends, client expectations, and internal workflows all over again. It makes it difficult to build consistency or provide the best support to clients. Internally, the company is very unstable. Morale is low, people are leaving frequently almost every week across departments, and current employees are actively looking for other opportunities. Leadership does not respect employee capacity, so long hours are common and work-life balance is basically nonexistent. The workload continues to pile up, but there are not enough people left to manage it properly. Overall, the company is struggling internally and financially, and the remaining employees are expected to absorb more and more work. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for stability, healthy leadership, or real work-life balance. Save yourself, we'll be out of here soon.
