Pros

Clothing allowance was given quarterly. Got to meet some very talented individuals and will have some lasting relationships with other store leaders.

Cons

I’ve never worked for a more misogynistic and toxic company. When you are making the numbers they make you feel like you’re on top of the world, but when you’re not, you will feel like your job will be taken from you at any moment. Stressful and exhausting doesn’t even begin to tip the iceberg when working here. They expect you to work 45+ hours a week if your business isn’t up to their expectations. They give promotions to those who “ look cool and stylish”, and leave other leaders behind who have worked so hard to get promoted. They want “yes” workers and if you aren’t that you WILL be fired. If you don’t drink the ‘kool-aid” you’re out! I’ve heard upper management talk so badly about their employees behind their backs and be sweet as pie to their faces. Truly disgusting behavior for people who are running this business. You will constantly hear the director of retail saying “ If you can’t stay on the bus you can leave.” Or “ … then maybe this just isn’t the place for you” when you try to suggest any sort of change. No time for them to develop you or try and make you be a better leader. If you don’t want any self expression this is also the place for you. They try to clone every single person to look the exact same. Down to the footwear or socks you should buy!? ( crazy right?) They change the vision of the brand on the drop of a dime and expect you to turn your business around in that moment. Boy club, boys club, boys club. Can’t express this enough. Clicks and talking down to women. Never taking them serious or taking their suggestions. Support is very limited… you might hear from your leader once a week but it’s a chat that you need to initiate and never any positive encouragement or suggestions of how to build your business. If you aren’t doing well, you WILL be blind sided and written up/ pushed out. This company has gone downhill since Feb 23’ and it only seems to get worse as the days go by. Leaving this place has been the best professional decision I’ve made. I no longer have stress rashes and sleepless nights. Your first few months will be all smoke and mirrors until you finally see how culty and clicky this company is. It’s actually pretty scary to see the direction Buck Mason is going in.

Pros

Literally none. I do not think I’ve had a job that made me nearly as upset as this one.

Cons

Management is extremely rude. Before I say this, I have served in the military and had numerous other high stress positions. I am currently working in one. The management here is absolutely horrendous. There is so much drama between all of the employees, especially the management. They push these sales tactics that really ends up making the customers upset. It’s a script to follow. Even upper management seemed to be passive aggressive, hypocritical and narcissistic. In addition to this, there is no break room. I noticed employees literally eat on the toilet or within feet of the restroom. Breaks are also the worst I’ve ever had. 7.5 hour 30 min break. It’s either walk 10 min out to your car and 10 min back, or sit near the restroom. Hope it’s not raining! Everything is very nit picky, and I feel like not only was I hardly trained, but I was also constantly harassed about every little thing I did wrong. I mean the slightest thing. And it wasn’t like “hey next time do this” it was basically hostile. And after 4 days and honestly only really one day of training I’m closing alone. I was not prepared at all. Bottom line: this job is a revolving door. I have met many people in this industry, and it sounds like most do not hear good things about this company.
