Pros
-The friends I have made from this job are amazing, however the biggest thing we have in common is that we hated working at this god forsaken shed. -If you're lucky and make budget you get a Christmas present. Something cheap and Bunnings branded. -Team discount. However it's very monitored and there are so many limitations and threats of dismissals attached to using it that it scared me from really harnessing the value. (you can only off the discount to people who live with you). I got in trouble for letting my nanna use my discount on her plants? Stupid. Not like they already make enough money. -Pay wasn't awful, but when I got moved into lower management I only earned $1 more than normal to do triple the work.
Cons
-I worked at Bunnings for 4 years. When I started I was so excited because I had always loved the company and thought joining the team would be amazing. For about 6 months it was great, people were fun to work with, job was fun. But as I got further in I realized very quickly that Bunnings plays favorites big time. Was being bullied and mistreated by my department managers and tried to report them many times but because they were all best friends with higher management team members, NOTHING HAPPENED. Ended up in tears on many occasions because of this. Was yelled at in front of customers on one occasion and a customer did more to defend me than my management did. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. -Had to beg and beg for months to be trained further. Wanted to join lower management and ended up being put in a position I wasn't trained or equipped for. Was then constantly ridiculed by management for not doing my job properly when in actuality, I didn't actually know what my job entailed. -Bank of Hours System - honesty the stupidest creation ever. Pay me for what I work, it's as simple as that. -Constant change of management - Your management team changes multiple times a year. Once you finally build a relationship with trust, you get chucked someone new and everything changes again. -They blame you for their mistakes, constantly! Expect you to do so much, and punish you when you don't. Inadequately train you and then harass you when you're not getting enough done. -Understaffed constantly! Tell you to call for help, but are always understaffed. Customers get angry at us, not management. Hated being yelled at for something that is out of my control. When you ask management to roster more people on, they say if we made more sales, maybe we could. Great outlook... NOT. - I could go on and on, but you get the idea. There's no respect and no recognition.
