Pros
Great work culture/atmosphere and the fellow chemists I work with are fun to work with. I enjoy that we are all close to the same age and get along. There are definitely opportunities for promotion and advancement if you want them (obviously you will have to seek out projects and responsibilities) specialists and managers are happy to help you advance your career in the direction you'd like. Also really great health benefits!
Cons
I don't feel like I get to use my degree (BS in Chemistry) as much as I would like. The job isn't too technical (which is also a good thing since I started here right after graduating). I am also not a fan of the industrial setting; wearing a hard hat, steel toes boots, and jeans everyday isn't what I exactly desire in a job. Working 12 hours shifts, especially night shift can get very long and lonely. It took me a while to get used to it and figure out how to fill my time off.
